May 23, 2016 - Work Session

a. A representative from RES Pyrotechnics will be in attendance to discuss the proposed event and to answer questions from the council. After discussing the issue in detail with Water Patrol, they have decided that they are not going to require a permit because it is not taking place on the lake (i.e. on a barge). Additionally, while discussing the proposal with Mound Fire Dept. Chief Greg Pedersen, he noted that the City of Mound has a special fireworks permit that vendors are required to complete when applying for a permit with them. Chief Pedersen stated that he would work with RES to ensure a safe event if the City wished to permit it. He was also able to confirm that RES is licensed with the State to perform events of this nature.

a. Included for Council review is a draft procurement policy based on direction from the previous work session.
