Notice of a Public Hearing - May 18, 2026, 6pm
The City Council of the City of Spring Park, Minnesota (“City”) will hold a public hearing pursuant to Minnesota Statutes, Sections 469.1812 through 469.1815, on Monday, May 18, 2026 at 6:00 p.m. The public hearing will be held during a regular meeting of the City Council at the Spring Park City Hall, 4349 Warren Avenue. The City Council will take public comment on its plan to establish a tax abatement in relation to its planned implementation of electrical system improvements in coordination with the upcoming Sunset Drive project.
The tax abatement is required for the City to be able to finance said electrical system improvements with City general obligation debt. The proposed tax abatement will include parcels 1711723310049, 1711723320009, 1711723320008, 1711723320001, 1711723320002, 1711723320003, 1711723320062, 1711723320063, 1711723320011, 1711723320012, 1711723320013, and 1711723320014 within the city. City property taxes generated annually from these twelve parcels will be sufficient to pay principal and interest on the tax abatement portion of the City’s planned General Obligation Bonds, Series 2026A: the total estimated abatement over the duration of the Bonds is $718,000. A parcel’s inclusion in the tax abatement will not change its tax classification or impact relative to other parcels within the city.
At the public hearing, all interested parties may appear and express their comments for consideration by the City Council. Following the public hearing, the City Council will take action concerning the proposed tax abatement.
